Jean-Paul de Win

Jean-Paul de Win is a pioneering graphic designer and animator in the pinball industry, best known for introducing high-definition LCD displays into modern pinball machines. Originally from the Netherlands, he began his career in digital motion graphics before transitioning into pinball through an internship at Williams/Bally/Midway in the late 1990s. Though his early experience coincided with the decline of traditional pinball manufacturing, he later played a crucial role in the industry's revival by joining Jersey Jack Pinball (JJP) in 2011. As the first dedicated LCD artist in pinball, de Win was instrumental in designing the animated displays and user interfaces for groundbreaking titles like The Wizard of Oz, The Hobbit, Dialed In!, Pirates of the Caribbean, Guns N’ Roses: Not in This Lifetime, and The Godfather. His work seamlessly integrated digital storytelling with pinball gameplay, transforming how players engage with machines by enhancing thematic depth and immersion.
