Dragon's Lair is an arcade game that was first released in 1983. The game is a laserdisc-based interactive movie game, where the player controls the actions of the main character, Dirk the Daring, as he enters a medieval castle to rescue Princess Daphne from the clutches of an evil dragon named Singe. The game's animation was created by Don Bluth, a former Disney animator, and the game's unique interactive feature was praised for its smooth animation and high-quality graphics. The game was a commercial success and was later ported to various home consoles and computers. A sequel, Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp, was released in 1991, and several other spin-offs and remakes were also released in the following decades.
