Megadeth

Megadeth, formed in 1983 by guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine after his departure from Metallica, is one of the "Big Four" of thrash metal, alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. Known for their fast, complex guitar work and dark, politically charged lyrics, Megadeth quickly established themselves as a dominant force in the heavy metal scene. Their debut album, Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good! (1985), introduced their aggressive sound, but it was their 1990 album, Rust in Peace, that is often regarded as one of the greatest thrash metal albums of all time. Featuring tracks like "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" and "Hangar 18," the album showcased Mustaine's virtuosic guitar playing and intricate songwriting.

In 1992, Megadeth achieved commercial success with Countdown to Extinction, which included hits like "Symphony of Destruction" and "Sweating Bullets." The album's polished production and broader appeal helped it reach a wider audience, solidifying the band's place in mainstream metal. Throughout their career, Megadeth has undergone numerous lineup changes, with Mustaine remaining the consistent driving force behind the band.
