The Ramones

The Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in Queens, New York City, in 1974. The group consisted of Joey Ramone (vocals), Johnny Ramone (guitar), Dee Dee Ramone (bass guitar and vocals), and Tommy Ramone (drums) who were all pseudonyms adopted by the band members. They are often cited as the first punk rock group and were an important influence on the punk and alternative rock movements. Their fast-paced, short songs and aggressive attitude helped to establish the genre and set the standard for punk rock music. The Ramones released their debut album, Ramones, in 1976 and went on to release a total of 14 studio albums throughout their career. Despite limited commercial success, the band's influence on the music industry continues to be felt today.
