Transformers

Transformers is a global multimedia franchise that began as a toy line in 1984, developed by Hasbro in partnership with Takara Tomy. The franchise revolves around sentient robots that can transform into vehicles, animals, and other objects, split into two factions: the heroic Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and the villainous Decepticons, led by Megatron. The conflict between these two factions, often centered around their battles on Earth, is the core of the Transformers universe.

The franchise gained widespread popularity with the release of the animated television series The Transformers (1984–1987), which introduced audiences to the rich lore and characters that would become iconic. This was followed by The Transformers: The Movie in 1986, which further expanded the story and introduced new characters, though it shocked fans with the death of Optimus Prime.

Transformers was revitalized for a new generation with the live-action film series directed by Michael Bay, beginning with Transformers in 2007. The films, known for their spectacular visual effects, large-scale action sequences, and bombastic style, were massive box office successes, though they received mixed reviews. The franchise has continued to expand with sequels, spin-offs like Bumblebee (2018), and numerous animated series, comics, and video games.
