Watch: Silverball Heroes Battle Video Invaders

Bit of a fun diversion for the pinball and arcade fans out there.

I'm working on editing an interview with "Pinball" Geoff Harvey, and in the course of research, was introduced to an obscure 1982 short film he starred in, directed by Mike Wallington.

It begins as an achingly familiar pinball/arcade documentary that pits two real-life characters (Geoff Harvey as the Pinball Wizard and Stephen Highfield as the Video Defender) as each makes a case for why their chosen arcade game is superior.

The story builds as it slowly transforms into pure retro absurdism as the Video Invaders (from Space Invaders fame) come to life and launch a multi-staged world invasion. Enter the Silverball Heroes, (seemingly led by the Alien from Alien Poker) who emerge from Pinball Machines to take on the Invaders.

An epic battle ensues. Who emerges victorious? Does anybody win in an arcade-game civil war? Watch to find out!
